The Sinks Disc Golf–Chattanooga, Tennessee

March 4, 2012

This 18 hole disc golf course  located in Chattanooga, TN is a heavily wooded course, and the location of frequent local tournaments. Unlike most other disc golf courses which are fit into a park or other recreation area where other forms of activity are occurring, the Sinks area seems to be solely for disc golf.  From the parking, a sign including a map and upcoming tournaments provides players with the information they need to get started.  To the left of the parking area is a “driving range” where players can practice their throws.

The course itself is highly technical. Getting the name “sinks” from the numerous sudden dips and bowls in the landscape, nearly every hole is a tight, narrow drive between the tree line. Every tee pad has a sign indicating the hole layout and concrete tee pads.
